Location: Rosemont, IL
Worksite Arrangement: Hybrid: 3 days in-office (Tues, Thurs, + 1 add'l), remaining 2 days remote
Schedule: 8am-5pm CT, M-F
Compensation: $38/hr

Avenica is currently evaluating talent for a Paralegal within the human resources and legal function of a growing organization. This individual will play a key part in minimizing company liability, guiding legal strategy, and driving operational success through pragmatic legal insight and thoughtful project execution. A strong understanding of employment and business law, along with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization, is essential.

Responsibilities:
This individual will support employee relations, manage member concerns, and contribute to internal legal matters including litigation support, contract review, and compliance.
Support employee relations by assisting with investigations, disciplinary actions, policy updates, and compliance with employment laws and regulations

Prepare legal documentation and manage internal case files related to litigation, including discovery, pleadings, and coordination with external counsel

Partner with HR and operations to address customer-related incidents, disputes, and contractual concerns in alignment with organizational policy

Draft, review, and revise business contracts such as vendor agreements, service contracts, and partnership documents to ensure legal and policy compliance

Collaborate with departments across the organization to manage contract databases, monitor key dates, and ensure adherence to legal obligations

Conduct legal research and support cross-functional initiatives to reduce liability and promote a compliant, proactive organizational environment
Requirements:
- Associate degree in Paralegal Studies or related field required . Bachelors degree preferred. Paralegal certification a plus.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience as a paralegal, with a focus on employee relations, litigation, member incidents and legal actions, and business contracts.
- Must have an Illinois Notary or be willing to obtain an Illinois Notary.
- Must have experience in employee relations and litigation, with the aptitude to learn member relations and business contracts.
