A General Counsel, also known as Chief Legal Officer, is the main lawyer that provides legal advice and services to an organization. They oversee and manage all the legal affairs of an organization, which includes setting internal governance policies and managing the impact of external factors. A General Counsel is responsible for business transactions, negotiating and writing contracts, analyzing legal issues related to proposed products, and guiding management on legal matters and issues.
