- Develop and implement legal strategies that support business objectives while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
- Counsel senior leadership on critical legal issues and regulatory matters.
- Influence the development and implementation of corporate policies and procedures to mitigate legal risks.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to a team of legal professionals and attorneys, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
- Identify and mitigate legal risks associated with the company's operations and strategic initiatives.
- Manage external counsel as necessary, to ensure delivery of efficient, cost-effective and high-quality legal services; act as a lead counsel and develop legal strategies for complex litigation and other matters.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including senior management, to provide legal advice and support for various business functions.
- Lead and oversee litigation, HR advice and other complex disputes, such as federal investigations, working with external counsel as necessary.
- Provide thought leadership to General Counsel and other executive leaders in the areas of litigation, HR advice, and regulatory investigations.
Education/Experience: Graduate of an accredited law school and admitted into a state bar. Must be in good standing and licensed to practice law.
15+ years of required experience in areas of litigation/employment advisory/investigations or corporate law. MBA, MHA, and/or business experience preferred. Experience with multiple areas of law, including managed care, insurance, and transactional (i.e., mergers and acquisitions and joint ventures) preferred. Experience in highly regulated industries preferred. Experience with federal investigations preferred.
