Job Summary
Hands-on experience at an employee-owned engineering, procurement, consulting, and construction company. This internship offers an excellent opportunity for law students to gain hands-on experience in a professional corporate legal setting and develop the skills necessary to navigate corporate interactions, negotiations, and legal scenarios.
The successful candidate will work closely with our attorneys and support staff on a variety of tasks, including legal research, drafting documents, commercial discussions, risk analysis and assisting with claim management. Learning opportunities through mentorship and networking opportunities with leading experts in the industry. Hands-on experience at an employee-owned engineering, procurement, consulting, and construction company.
This internship offers an excellent opportunity for law students to gain hands-on experience in a professional corporate legal setting and develop the skills necessary to navigate corporate interactions, negotiations, and legal scenarios. The successful candidate will work closely with our attorneys and support staff on a variety of tasks, including legal research, drafting documents, commercial discussions, risk analysis and assisting with claim management. Learning opportunities through mentorship and networking opportunities with leading experts in the industry.
Key Responsibilities
Work on matters arising from the in-house attorneys in the World Headquarters, including transactional, litigation, employment, corporate or other legal issues.
Work will be assigned requiring legal skills and judgment, under the supervision of our in-house attorneys.
Attend and take notes during meetings and assist in researching legal and other related issues.
Support attorneys in preparing for client meetings, negotiations, and dispute resolution.
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Skills:
Strong academic record and a demonstrated interest intransactional work or litigation, especially in the engineering and construction industry
Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills
Communication skills, both written and oral
Initiative, self-starter, highly motivated
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Interpersonal skills
Problem solving skills; ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
Minimum Qualifications
Current enrollment in Law School. No experience required. All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.
Work Environment/Physical Demands
