Job Overview

The Attorney Recruiting Specialist is an integral part our firm-wide recruiting program, including Summer Associate recruiting as well as lateral hiring.

This role is a hybrid working arrangement. Potential candidates must live within commuting distance of our New York office to be onsite 3 days per week. In this role, you will report to the Senior Manager of Attorney Recruiting.

Essential Functions

Report to the Senior Manager of Attorney Recruiting, and work closely with the legal recruiting team and Hiring Partners on the entire recruitment process from initial interview through ultimate hiring.

Review candidates and coordinate on-campus interviewing as well as callback interviews for the New York office.

Work with legal recruiting team to develop, plan, and assist with firm-wide Summer Program.

Execute the New York Summer Program in coordination with the recruiting team as well as Hiring Partners, local Recruiting Committee members, and attorneys. This includes coordinating trainings; planning, executing, and attending events; helping manage work assignments and mentoring relationships; and assisting with reviews and extension of offers.

Work in conjunction with the Senior Manager of Attorney Recruiting to strategize best ways to connect with candidates in response to changes in the student recruiting legal market.

Organize outreach initiatives in conjunction with local law schools, including on campus events and recruiting receptions.

Track the New York summer associate program expenses in line with department budget.

Market and help recruit for lateral candidates, with a specific emphasis on New York, including understanding hiring needs, prompting internal referrals, and working with recruiting agencies.

Work in internal databases and prepare candidate correspondence.

Partner with other firm functions, including Professional Development, Practice Management, Innovation and Value, and Human Resources Operations, and develop and maintain relationships with legal placement firms.

Perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Work additional hours as needed to fulfill job requirements.

Skills/Qualifications

5+ years of attorney recruiting experience, or comparable law firm experience.

Bachelor's degree required.

Experience with viDesktop and/or Flo Recruit is a plus.

Superior written and oral communication skills with excellent interpersonal skills.

Client service oriented, highly responsive, and can effectively interface with attorneys at all levels, law school administrators, legal recruiters, and staff.

Strong organizational and detail skills.

Accurate, precise, and follows up regularly and appropriately.

Able to prioritize workload and multi-task, and work well under pressure.

Motivated, proactive, takes initiative, and eager to take ownership.

Demonstrates creative and innovative thinking and problem solving.

Able to plan ahead, push projects forward, meet deadlines, and stay on top of follow through.

Strong work ethic.

Ability to work additional/flexible hours, on evenings and weekends as needed.

Strong technical and computer skills in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) required.

Proficient in web-based conference call/web-sharing applications.

Compensation

The salary range for this role is $90,000 - $120,000. Actual salaries will depend on a candidate's geographic location, relevant experience, and skillset. The salary range listed is just one component of Blank Rome's total compensation package for employees. Other monetary rewards include annual discretionary bonuses based on performance and profit-sharing contributions based on eligibility and firm profitability.
